Pedal, Walk, and Eat Chicago Like a Local

Award-winning guided bike, walking, and food tours along Chicago's legendary lakefront and neighborhoods.

About Us

A view of the Chicago skyline along the waterfront.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 stars across nearly 2,000 reviews, Bobby's Bike Hike has earned its reputation one pedal stroke at a time. The operation runs out of 540 N Lake Shore Drive, steps from the water, which means your adventure starts the moment you arrive. Guides like Gabe, Braeden, and Kevin aren't just reading from a script. They bring Chicago's layered history to life with the kind of enthusiasm that turns a solo afternoon into a story worth retelling.

The tours cover ground that most visitors never find on their own. From the lakefront trail neighborhoods to the city's storied food corridors, every route is designed to show you something real. A first-time visitor from Dallas described her Bikes, Bites & Brews experience as something that "far exceeded expectations," and that kind of reaction shows up again and again in the reviews. Bobby's isn't selling a sightseeing checklist. It's selling a genuine Chicago day.

What We Offer

The Bikes, Bites & Brews Tour is the flagship, combining cycling, local food stops, and craft beer into a single packed outing. If you'd rather keep it on foot, the Food Tour digs into Chicago's culinary neighborhoods with commentary on the history behind every bite. For those who want pure exploration, the Lakefront Neighborhoods Bike Tour traces miles of shoreline and delivers skyline views that no bus window can replicate.

All tours are guided by knowledgeable, high-energy locals who know the city's backstory as well as its best bites. Bikes and helmets are provided, so you show up ready to roll. Group tours run on a regular schedule, and private bookings are available for corporate outings, bachelorette parties, or anyone who wants a more personal pace. Check the website for seasonal schedules and availability.

"OMGOSH! I did the Bikes, Bites & Brews bike tour and Gabe was an absolutely FABULOUS guide! I’m visiting from Dallas, and this was my first-ever guided bike tour—and it FAR exceeded my expectations! Gabe is the perfect balance of friendly conversation, accurate and extensive Chicago knowledge, humor, and truly great listening skills (a huge bonus!). As a teacher, I’m picky about clear instructions as well as safety—and I appreciate when guides don’t wander off into unnecessary details. Gabe nailed the balance perfectly. The equipment was high-quality and well maintained, and the price was terrific!!. Pizza, a hot dog, a brownie, and a beer were ALL included in the price! I will definitely be back next year!!.Thank you for making my trip to Chicago unforgettable!!"

"We took the Food Tour with Braeden. Although the selection of foods was ok, based just on personal choice, great for Chicago history and experience though. I still enjoyed Braeden's enthusiasm and humor. It could have been just a walking tour and it would've been great. I was dreading being out in the freezing cold for 3 hours, but I'm glad I didn't stay in and order take out."

"Kevin was our tour guide on one of Bobby’s Bike Hikes. I signed up for the lakefront neighborhoods tour. My husband was working in Chicago and I had the whole day to myself to explore— this bike tour was the perfect afternoon activity! Some movement, some beautiful sites, and a lot of sun! I learned funny facts about certain homes (you’d never guess where the first playboy bunny mansion was), I saw a GORGEOUS church, and explored the most stunning areas of Chicago. I would even do this tour again! Thanks so much Kevin and Bobby’s Bikes for making my day off in the city unforgettable!"

"Our family of four had an amazing time on this walking food tour. Such a great way to experience Chicago’s sights and homemade recipes. Our guide Gabe was fantastic, funny and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him and tours from this company. Will be repeat customers when we’re back in Chicago."

"We took two of their bike tours. Both were excellent. If you can only take one, I recommend the 4 1/2 hour Bikes, Bites and Brew. You cover a lot of ground, see more sights and experience Chicago. I expected Bites but we got a generous slice of pizza, two beers, a cupcake (highlight) and a Chicago dog. So come hungry. Our tour guide Dan was exceptional. He was engaged, funny, personable and made sure everyone had a great time. THIS is a great way to experience Chicago!!!"
